Kitchen remodeling contractor in Connecticut by Evolution Home Improvement LLC

Kitchen Remodeling Contractor in Connecticut

The kitchen is the most-used room in any Connecticut home — and one of the most complex to renovate correctly. Evolution Home Improvement manages the full kitchen remodel process: layout planning, demolition, rough-in coordination, cabinetry, countertops, tile backsplash, lighting, and final trim.

Most kitchen remodels in Connecticut run into hidden issues — outdated wiring, undersized plumbing supply lines, or subfloor damage. Our licensed crew identifies and addresses these before they become costly delays.

Our process starts with a detailed on-site assessment. We provide a line-item written estimate covering every phase — demo, rough-ins, cabinetry, countertop templating, tile, appliance hookups, and punch-list. You approve before any work starts.

Common Problems We Fix
  • Outdated kitchen layout that wastes counter and storage space
  • Water-damaged cabinets or subfloor from years of sink leaks
  • Undersized electrical panel or outlets that fail code inspection
  • Mismatched finishes from piecemeal updates over the years

Bathroom renovation contractor in Connecticut by Evolution Home Improvement

Bathroom Remodeling Contractor in Connecticut

A bathroom remodel is one of the highest-ROI projects a Connecticut homeowner can invest in — but only when the work is done right the first time. Evolution handles full bathroom renovations from tile demo to final fixture installation, including waterproofing, subfloor repair, vanity and mirror work, and all plumbing and electrical coordination needed for a code-compliant finish.

Bathrooms in Connecticut homes — especially those built before the 1990s — often hide serious issues behind the tile: rotted subfloor, failed shower pan membranes, inadequate ventilation, and outdated galvanized supply lines. We expose and fix these problems before any new materials go in.

Our process covers four clear phases: demo and assessment, rough-in corrections, waterproofing and backer installation, and finish work. Every shower or tub surround gets a proper membrane and pre-slope before any tile is set.

Common Problems We Fix
  • Rotted subfloor or failed shower pan under existing tile
  • Black mold behind walls from years of undetected moisture intrusion
  • Low water pressure from corroded or undersized supply lines
  • Inadequate exhaust ventilation causing chronic humidity damage
  • Cracked tile and failing grout that allow water behind the wall
What's Included
  • Full bathroom gut and rebuild — shower, tub, vanity, and floor
  • Shower pan waterproofing membrane and pre-slope installation
  • Wall tile and floor tile design, layout, and installation
  • Vanity, mirror, and medicine cabinet installation
  • Toilet, faucet, and shower valve replacement
  • Exhaust fan upgrade and ventilation correction
  • Grab bar and accessibility modification available
  • Permit coordination for plumbing and electrical changes

Interior painting contractor in Connecticut by Evolution Home Improvement LLC

Interior & Exterior Painting Contractor in Connecticut

Professional painting is 70% preparation and 30% application. Evolution's painting crews start every job with thorough surface assessment: filling nail holes, skim-coating damaged sections, caulking gaps, and sanding before any primer goes on. The result is a finish that looks sharp and holds up through Connecticut's humidity, freeze-thaw cycles, and UV exposure.

We work on everything from single interior rooms to full exterior repaints on multi-family buildings and commercial storefronts. Our crews mask meticulously, protect floors and furniture completely, and clean up every day before leaving.

Exterior painting in Connecticut requires specific timing and materials. We schedule exterior work around weather windows, use bonding primers on previously peeled or chalky surfaces, and apply two full finish coats of exterior-rated paint.

Common Problems We Fix
  • Peeling exterior paint caused by trapped moisture or inadequate primer
  • Lap marks and roller texture from unprepared or low-quality application
  • Paint failure on trim and windows due to skipped caulking and sanding
  • Interior walls showing stains, repairs, or texture variations through the paint
  • Fading and chalking on older exterior surfaces that need proper bonding primer
What's Included
  • Interior painting — walls, ceilings, trim, doors, and built-ins
  • Exterior painting — siding, fascia, soffit, shutters, and trim

  • Two-coat finish application on all exterior surfaces
  • Commercial and industrial painting — storefronts and office interiors
  • EPA RRP lead paint compliance protocol available for pre-1978 homes

Hardwood flooring installation contractor in Connecticut by Evolution Home Improvement

Hardwood & Flooring Installation in Connecticut

Flooring affects the look, feel, and resale value of every room in a Connecticut home. Evolution installs and refinishes solid hardwood, engineered hardwood, laminate, luxury vinyl plank, and ceramic and porcelain tile — handling everything from subfloor assessment and leveling to final transitions and thresholds.

Flooring installation fails when subfloor preparation is skipped. Before any flooring material goes down, our crew inspects the subfloor for damage, fastens loose areas, fills low spots, and ensures the surface is level to manufacturer specification.

For hardwood installations, we follow proper acclimation protocols: solid wood typically needs 5–7 days on site before installation in Connecticut's seasonal humidity environment. We document moisture readings before and after acclimation on every project.

Common Problems We Fix
  • Squeaky floors caused by undetached subfloor panels or loose fasteners
  • Cupping or gapping in hardwood from improper acclimation or moisture exposure
  • Hollow sections or movement in laminate from high spots or debris under planks
  • Cracked grout in tile floors from subfloor flex or missing expansion joints
  • Transition strips missing or mismatched between rooms and doorways
What's Included
  • Solid hardwood installation and refinishing — sand, stain, and finish
  • Engineered hardwood and luxury vinyl plank installation
  • Laminate flooring — glue-down, click-lock, and floating systems
  • Ceramic and porcelain tile — floor and stair installation
  • Subfloor repair, leveling, and moisture barrier installation
  • Staircase flooring — treads, risers, and nosing replacement
  • Transitions, thresholds, and reducer strips throughout
  • Moisture reading documentation before installation — all wood products

Basement finishing contractor in Connecticut by Evolution Home Improvement LLC

Basement Finishing & Remodeling Contractor in Connecticut

Connecticut basements lose more livable square footage per year than any other part of the home — left unfinished, they're wasted space. Evolution transforms unfinished basements into fully permitted, code-compliant living spaces: home offices, family rooms, guest suites, gyms, and rental-ready apartments across Connecticut.

Finishing a basement in Connecticut requires understanding the state's climate: below-grade spaces are subject to hydrostatic pressure, seasonal moisture migration, and cold-side condensation. We assess moisture conditions before any framing begins and install vapor management that actually works in Connecticut's mixed climate.

Our basement finishing process follows a defined sequence: moisture assessment, framing, insulation, rough electrical and plumbing, drywall, flooring, trim, lighting, and final systems testing. We coordinate egress requirements and pull all required permits.

Common Problems We Fix
  • Finished basement destroyed by water intrusion after heavy rain or snowmelt
  • Mold growth behind framing walls due to incorrect vapor barrier placement
  • Unpermitted basement conversion flagged during home sale inspection
  • Cold, uncomfortable basement due to inadequate insulation at rim joists and walls
  • Low ceiling height limiting usable function — drop ceiling versus drywall decision
What's Included
  • Full basement finishing from bare concrete to move-in ready
  • Moisture assessment and remediation recommendation before framing
  • Closed-cell spray foam and batt insulation for rim joists and walls
  • Framing, drywall, and ceiling systems including drop ceiling options
  • Flooring: luxury vinyl plank, carpet, engineered hardwood, and tile
  • Recessed lighting, outlets, switches, and panel coordination
  • Egress window installation for legal bedroom requirements
  • Full permit coordination and inspection scheduling

Plastering and skim coating contractor in Connecticut by Evolution Home Improvement

Plastering & Skim Coating Contractor in Connecticut

Connecticut's housing stock includes a high proportion of pre-1960 homes with original plaster walls. Evolution specializes in plaster restoration, crack repair, and full-room skim coating that brings walls and ceilings back to a flat, professional finish ready for paint — whether you're restoring original plaster or correcting poor-quality drywall work.

Skim coating is not spackling. A skim coat is a thin, full-coverage application of joint compound that levels surface irregularities, fills texture, and creates a uniform finish across the entire wall. We skim coat, let it cure, sand, prime, and inspect before any finish coat goes on.

For plaster restoration in historic Connecticut homes, we match the existing surface profile as closely as possible — using the correct compound type and application technique to blend new work with original plaster.

Common Problems We Fix
  • Cracks in original plaster walls that keep reopening despite patching
  • Uneven or wavy drywall surfaces that show through paint in raking light
  • Visible texture mismatches between patched areas and original wall surfaces
  • Pop-corn or sand-swirl ceiling texture that dates the home and catches dust
  • Joint lines or fastener shadows showing through in previously painted rooms
What's Included
  • Full-room skim coating over drywall, existing plaster, or textured surfaces
  • Hairline and structural crack repair with mesh reinforcement where required
  • Plaster restoration and surface matching in historic Connecticut homes
  • Ceiling skim coating and texture removal
  • Smooth finish: sand, prime, and inspect before any paint is applied
  • Spotwork repair for water stains, fastener pops, and previous patch fails
  • Multi-lift application for deep repairs to prevent future cracking
  • Residential and commercial — offices, retail, and multi-family buildings

Siding installation contractor in Connecticut by Evolution Home Improvement LLC

Siding Installation & Replacement Contractor in Connecticut

Siding is the first line of defense against Connecticut's weather — and when it fails, water gets behind it and into your wall assembly, causing rot, mold, and insulation damage that compounds silently for years. Evolution installs, replaces, and repairs siding on residential and commercial buildings across Connecticut.

A proper siding installation isn't just about the panels — it's about what goes behind them. We install house wrap that meets current Connecticut energy code requirements, flash all windows, doors, and penetrations correctly, and ensure the drainage plane is continuous before any siding panel goes up.

We work with vinyl siding, fiber cement (James Hardie and equivalent), cedar and engineered wood siding, and board-and-batten profiles. We provide manufacturer warranty documentation on all fiber cement installations where product warranties require licensed installer certification.

Common Problems We Fix
  • Warping, buckling, or pulling siding panels from improper fastening or expansion gaps
  • Water intrusion behind siding causing rot at window sills and sheathing
  • Missing or failed flashing at penetrations causing chronic leak points
  • Chalking, fading, or staining on fiber cement or wood siding from failed paint system
  • Storm or impact damage to individual panels creating moisture entry points
What's Included
  • Full siding replacement — vinyl, fiber cement, cedar, and engineered wood
  • House wrap and drainage plane installation to current CT energy code
  • Flashing at all windows, doors, and wall penetrations
  • Soffit, fascia, and frieze board replacement and installation
  • Partial siding repair and panel replacement for damage or rot sections
  • Board-and-batten and specialty profile installation
  • J-channel, corner post, and trim detail work throughout
  • Manufacturer warranty documentation on fiber cement installations

Custom deck builder in Connecticut by Evolution Home Improvement

Custom Deck & Porch Builder in Connecticut

A well-built deck or porch adds usable outdoor living space and measurable resale value to any Connecticut property — but deck construction in New England requires specific engineering: footings below the frost line, hardware rated for ground-contact exposure, and decking materials selected for resistance to Connecticut's wet springs, hot summers, and freeze-thaw winters.

Most deck failures in Connecticut trace back to one of three causes: footings that weren't dug to frost depth (42 inches in CT), ledger attachment that wasn't flashed and bolted correctly, or hardware that corroded and failed. We follow IRC deck construction standards and pull all required permits.

Our deck build process starts with a site assessment covering grade, drainage, sun exposure, and desired use. We produce a scaled drawing for permit submission, select materials with you, and build to the approved plan with daily site cleanup and documented progress.

Common Problems We Fix
  • Existing deck with soft or spongy boards from moisture-trapped framing below
  • Deck that has shifted or settled due to footings above the frost line
  • Ledger board pulling away from house due to improper attachment or rot
  • Corroded hardware and fasteners creating structural integrity concerns
  • Unpermitted deck flagged during home sale — requires retroactive inspection or removal
What's Included
  • Custom deck design — layout, material selection, and scaled permit drawings
  • Footings drilled to 48-inch frost depth with concrete tube forms
  • Pressure-treated framing with hot-dipped galvanized structural hardware
  • Composite decking — Trex, TimberTech, and equivalent profiles
  • Pressure-treated and tropical hardwood decking options
  • Cable, aluminum, and wood railing systems to code height requirements
  • Stair construction with proper rise/run ratio and handrail compliance
  • Permit submission, inspection scheduling, and final sign-off included

Door and window installation contractor in Connecticut by Evolution Home Improvement LLC

Door & Window Installation Contractor in Connecticut

Improperly installed or deteriorated doors and windows are among the leading causes of energy loss, water intrusion, and security vulnerability in Connecticut homes. Evolution installs, replaces, and upgrades doors and windows on residential and commercial properties across Connecticut — handling removal, framing corrections, insulation, flashing, and complete trim finish.

Window and door installation is one of the most frequently botched jobs in the remodeling industry. Common failures include improper shimming, missing sill pan flashing, and inadequate insulation at the rough opening. Our installation process addresses each of these systematically, every time.

Energy Star-rated replacement windows qualify for Connecticut Green Bank and federal energy tax credit programs — we provide the product documentation you need to file.

Common Problems We Fix
  • Drafty windows or doors causing high heating bills and cold spots near openings
  • Condensation between window panes indicating failed seal and inert gas loss
  • Doors that stick, drag, or won't latch due to settled framing or poor installation
  • Water staining on interior trim below windows from failed flashing or sill pans
  • Rotted exterior door frames from water infiltration at the threshold or side jambs
What's Included
  • Exterior door replacement — entry, French, sliding, and patio doors
  • Interior door installation — passage, pocket, barn, and bifold
  • Window replacement — double-hung, casement, awning, picture, and sliding
  • Rough opening framing corrections and header upgrades

Custom carpentry and finish work in Connecticut by Evolution Home Improvement

Custom Carpentry & Finish Work in Connecticut

Custom carpentry is the finishing layer that separates a renovation that looks complete from one that looks finished. Crown molding that meets square at every corner, built-in shelving that fits the wall precisely, wainscoting panels that are level and consistent in reveal — these details require a different level of skill and patience than rough construction work.

Finish carpentry in Connecticut homes presents specific challenges: seasonal wood movement from humidity swings means joints that look tight in winter can open in summer if not cut and assembled correctly. We account for wood species expansion rates and prime all cut ends before installation.

We build and install custom pieces on-site or in our shop depending on complexity. Built-in bookcases, window seats, mudroom lockers, and entertainment centers are designed to the exact dimensions of your space and finished to match or complement your existing millwork.

Common Problems We Fix
  • Crown molding corners that don't meet cleanly or have visible gaps at joints
  • Baseboards and casing that pull away from walls due to improper fastening
  • Built-in shelving that sags, leans, or wasn't anchored to studs correctly
  • Stair treads that squeak, are uneven, or have exposed fastener heads
  • Wainscoting panels that are uneven, out of level, or poorly scribed to the floor
What's Included
  • Crown molding, baseboard, chair rail, and interior casing installation
  • Built-in bookshelves, entertainment centers, and storage systems
  • Wainscoting and wall panel installation — shaker, raised panel, and board-and-batten
  • Mudroom locker and bench systems custom-built to your dimensions
  • Stair tread, riser, and baluster replacement and refinishing
  • Window seat and bay window built-in construction
  • Custom millwork fabrication for commercial reception and retail applications

FAQ

Frequently Asked Questions

Select a service below to see the most common questions we get from Connecticut homeowners.

General Questions

Licensing, estimates, service area, and scheduling

Yes. Evolution Home Improvement LLC carries full licensing and insurance on every project in Connecticut and New York. We provide documentation before work begins on your property.
Every estimate is 100% free with no obligation. We visit your property, assess the full scope, and deliver a written quote with a clear cost and timeline breakdown — before you commit to anything.
Yes. We handle both residential homes and commercial buildings across Connecticut. Painting, renovation, flooring, siding, and carpentry — our licensed crew manages the full scope for both property types.
We serve homeowners and commercial clients throughout Connecticut and select areas of New York. Call (631) 627-4097 to confirm availability for your specific town or ZIP code.
For full renovations and large remodels, 4–8 weeks lead time is ideal. For painting, flooring, and smaller jobs, we typically schedule within 1–2 weeks of the estimate. Contact us early for spring and summer slots — those book quickly in Connecticut.

Kitchen Remodeling

Timeline, scope, and what to expect during a kitchen remodel

A standard kitchen remodel — new cabinets, countertops, tile, and appliance hookups — runs 3–5 weeks. Projects involving structural changes, custom cabinetry lead times, or permit requirements may extend to 6–8 weeks. We provide a phased schedule at the estimate.
Yes. We offer targeted kitchen updates: cabinet refacing, countertop replacement only, backsplash refresh, or appliance and fixture upgrades without a full gut. We assess what makes sense structurally and financially during the estimate visit.
Yes. We coordinate appliance hookups as part of the project — connecting ranges, dishwashers, disposals, and refrigerator water lines to the rough-in we set. If you're supplying your own appliances, just let us know the models at the estimate stage so we can plan the rough-in dimensions accordingly.

Bathroom Remodeling

Waterproofing, scope options, and timeline

Yes. We offer targeted bathroom updates: tile replacement only, vanity and fixture swap, tub-to-shower conversion, or a floor and wall refresh without a full gut. We assess what makes sense structurally and financially during the estimate visit.
Every shower or tub surround we build receives a proper waterproofing membrane and pre-slope before any tile is set. We test all plumbing and verify the membrane integrity before closing the walls — so there are no leaks and no callbacks after the job closes.
A standard full bathroom remodel runs 2–3 weeks. Larger bathrooms with custom tile work, heated floors, or structural changes may run 3–5 weeks. A tile-and-fixture refresh without demo can often be done in under 2 weeks. We give you a specific timeline at the estimate.

Interior & Exterior Painting

Paint products, prep process, and lead paint compliance

We use premium exterior formulations rated for freeze-thaw and UV resistance — typically 100% acrylic latex for siding and trim. Product selection depends on the substrate and your specific situation. We recommend and explain our choices at the estimate.
For pre-1978 homes, we follow EPA RRP protocols — proper containment, HEPA vacuuming, and waste disposal. This protects your family and keeps the project compliant with Connecticut and federal regulations.
Standard interior work is one coat of primer followed by two coats of finish paint — always. Surfaces that have been skim coated, repaired, or are changing from a dark to a light color may require an additional primer coat. We never skip the primer on new or repaired surfaces regardless of what the paint label claims about one-coat coverage.

Home Renovation

Permits, coordination, and living in the home during renovation

Yes. We coordinate permit applications, schedule required inspections, and ensure all work is signed off by the local building department before the project closes. Unpermitted work creates problems at resale — we never recommend skipping permits.
Yes, with proper planning. We sequence work to keep disruption contained to active areas, maintain access to bathrooms and the kitchen when possible, and set up dust barriers at active work zones. We discuss your occupancy situation at the estimate and plan accordingly.
We stop, document the condition with photos, and present you with a written change order showing your options and costs before any additional work proceeds. Nothing undisclosed gets added to your invoice. This is how every unexpected condition is handled — no exceptions.

Flooring & Hardwood

Acclimation, subfloor prep, and material options

Solid hardwood typically requires 5–7 days of acclimation in the conditioned space where it will be installed. Connecticut's seasonal humidity swings make this critical — we take moisture readings before and after acclimation and document them for every hardwood project.
In many cases, yes — depending on the height tolerance at doors and transitions and the condition of the existing material underneath. We assess the situation at the estimate and tell you exactly what the options are for your specific floor.
Luxury vinyl plank is our primary recommendation for Connecticut basement floors — it handles moisture migration from the slab, holds up to temperature swings, and installs as a floating floor that doesn't require adhesive directly on concrete. Engineered hardwood is an option in dry, conditioned basements. Solid hardwood is not recommended below grade in Connecticut.

Basement Finishing

Permits, moisture control, and egress requirements

In virtually all Connecticut municipalities, yes. A basement finishing permit is required when adding living space, bedrooms, or a bathroom. We coordinate the permit application and schedule all required inspections as part of our standard basement finishing process.
We assess existing moisture conditions before any framing begins. If active water intrusion is present, we address it before finishing — no vapor barrier or paint-on waterproofing covers an active leak. We specify the correct insulation assembly for below-grade walls in Connecticut's mixed climate and install continuous vapor management at the slab.
A legal basement bedroom in Connecticut requires a minimum ceiling height of 7 feet, a closet, smoke and CO detectors, and — most critically — a code-compliant egress window that meets minimum opening dimensions for emergency exit. We install egress windows as part of our basement finishing scope and design the bedroom layout around the egress location from day one.

Plastering & Skim Coating

Skim coat vs spackling, texture removal, and historic homes

Spackling fills individual holes and dings — it's a spot repair. Skim coating is a full-coverage thin coat applied across the entire wall surface to level imperfections, remove texture, and create a uniform finish before paint. They are not interchangeable — skim coating is what produces a truly flat wall.
Yes. We wet the existing texture to loosen it, scrape it back, and apply a full skim coat to bring the ceiling to a smooth, paint-ready finish. We test for asbestos in texture materials from pre-1980 ceilings before any scraping begins — this is a legal and health requirement in Connecticut.
Hairline cracks caused by normal seasonal movement can be permanently repaired with proper prep — opening the crack, applying mesh reinforcement, and filling in multiple lifts with the correct compound. Cracks caused by active structural movement or foundation settlement cannot be permanently repaired until the underlying movement is addressed. We assess which type you have at the estimate.

Siding Installation

Material lifespan, permits, and flashing requirements

Properly installed and maintained fiber cement siding has a 30–50 year service life in Connecticut's climate. The critical factors are correct installation with proper flashing and drainage plane, factory-primed or pre-finished product, and repainting on the manufacturer's recommended schedule — typically every 15–20 years for field-painted product.
In most Connecticut towns, a building permit is required for full siding replacement. Requirements vary by municipality. We check permit requirements for your specific town at the estimate stage and include permit coordination in our project scope.
Yes. We do partial siding repairs — replacing damaged or rotted panels, correcting failed flashing at specific penetrations, or repairing storm-damaged sections. The challenge with partial replacement on older siding is matching the existing profile and color. We assess the match feasibility at the estimate and give you an honest recommendation on whether a full replacement makes more sense financially.

Decks & Porches

Frost depth, material comparison, and permits

Connecticut's frost depth is 42–48 inches depending on your specific location and local code adoption. We drill all deck footings to the required depth with concrete tube forms — footings above frost depth will heave seasonally and compromise the entire structure over time.
Pressure-treated lumber is the standard framing material for deck structure regardless of your decking choice. For the walking surface, composite decking requires less maintenance than wood — no annual sealing or staining — but has a higher upfront cost. We walk through both options with specific product recommendations and long-term cost comparisons at your estimate.
Yes, in virtually all Connecticut municipalities. Any deck attached to the house or over 200 square feet requires a building permit and structural inspection. We prepare scaled drawings, submit the permit application, and schedule all required inspections as part of our standard deck build process.

Doors & Windows

Energy credits, frame replacement, and installation failures

Yes. Energy Star Most Efficient-rated windows qualify for the federal 25C tax credit — currently 30% of the installed cost up to $600 per year. We provide product documentation at project close that includes the NFRC ratings required to file. Consult your tax advisor for specific eligibility.
If the door frame is square, solid, and free of rot, a prehung door replacement into the existing frame may be sufficient. If the frame is out of square, soft, or rotted — especially at the sill — we replace the full prehung unit and reframe as needed. We assess this at the estimate at no charge.
Condensation between panes means the insulated glass unit seal has failed and the inert gas (argon or krypton) has escaped. The glass unit cannot be repaired — it must be replaced. Depending on the window brand and age, the glass unit alone can sometimes be replaced without replacing the full frame. We assess this at the estimate and recommend the most cost-effective option.

Custom Carpentry

Trim matching, built-ins, and shop vs on-site fabrication

In most cases, yes. We stock a wide range of standard profiles and can source custom milled profiles for less common historic details. For matching existing painted trim, we bring samples to the site and select the closest match before ordering material.
Both, depending on complexity. Simple painted built-ins are typically built on-site for an exact fit. More complex pieces with face frames, doors, drawers, and applied molding profiles are built in a shop environment for better quality control, then transported and installed. We discuss the approach at the estimate.
Crown molding cracks and gaps in Connecticut primarily from seasonal wood movement — the humidity difference between summer and winter causes the wood to expand and contract. The fix is using properly dried stock, cutting joints so wood movement doesn't open them, priming all cut ends before installation, and caulking joints with a flexible paintable caulk rather than a rigid filler. We account for all of this on every trim installation.

Our Process

How We Work

Every project follows the same four-phase process — no surprises, no excuses, no mystery about where your money is going.

Step 01

Free On-Site Estimate

Every project begins with a free on-site estimate — no phone quotes, no guesswork. Owner Rolando Meechan or a senior member of our crew visits your property, walks every area of the planned work, and assesses existing conditions in person before any number is discussed.

We look for what other contractors miss during a quick walkthrough: hidden moisture, code violations from previous work, structural concerns that need to be addressed before finish work begins. Identifying these before the estimate means no surprise change orders once work starts.

You receive a written, line-item estimate broken down by phase and trade. No lump sums. Every cost is visible and explainable — you know exactly what you're paying for before you sign anything.

What Happens at the Estimate
A
In-person site visit — we walk every area of the planned project
B
Existing conditions assessment — moisture, structural, and code review
C
Written line-item quote delivered within 48 hours of site visit
Step 02

Scope & Planning

Once you approve the estimate, we produce a written scope-of-work document that defines every phase in measurable, specific deliverables. This isn't a general contract with broad language — it's a project-specific document that describes exactly what materials will be used, what work will be done in each phase, and what the completed condition of each area will be.

For projects requiring permits, we handle the application process: preparing the required drawings and documents, submitting to the local building department, and scheduling inspections at the appropriate phases. You are notified of every permit milestone before and after it occurs.

Before the first crew member arrives on site, you receive a project schedule with phase start dates and expected durations. Nothing about this project should surprise you — and if site conditions change what was planned, we communicate it immediately before adjusting scope.

What Happens in Planning
A
Written scope-of-work document with phase-by-phase deliverables
B
Permit application and drawings submitted to local building department
C
Project schedule delivered with phase start dates before work begins
Step 03

Construction & Build

Work is executed in the correct sequence by our own licensed crew — not handed off to subcontractors you've never met. Every phase of a project has a logical order: rough work before finish work, inspections before closing walls, waterproofing before tile. We don't skip steps to accelerate a schedule.

At the end of every work day, the active area is cleaned, tools are organized, and any areas of your home not being worked on are protected. We treat your property the way we'd expect our own to be treated. Daily check-ins keep you informed of progress and flag any field decisions that need your input before we proceed.

If we open a wall and find a condition that wasn't visible during the estimate — rotted framing, hidden water damage, an unexpected plumbing run — we stop, document it, and present you with options and costs before proceeding. No unauthorized work, no surprise invoices at the end.

How We Run the Job Site
A
Our own licensed crew on every job — no unknown subcontractors
B
Daily site cleanup and protection of all non-active areas
C
Unexpected conditions documented and approved before work continues
Step 04

Final Walkthrough

Before we consider any project complete, we conduct a formal final walkthrough with you — the owner — present. We go through every item in the scope-of-work document and verify that each deliverable was completed to specification. If anything doesn't meet the standard, it goes on the punch list and gets corrected before the project closes.

The punch list is not a negotiation — it's a commitment. Every item on it has a specific completion date and is signed off in writing when resolved. We don't collect final payment until the punch list is clear and you are satisfied with the result.

At project close, you receive copies of all permit sign-offs, product warranty documentation, material data sheets for any products requiring owner maintenance, and a record of the work performed. This documentation protects you at resale and ensures you have what you need to maintain your investment properly.

What Project Close Includes
A
Formal walkthrough against scope-of-work with punch list if needed
B
Final payment collected only after punch list is fully resolved
C
Permit sign-offs, warranties, and maintenance documentation delivered
Step 05

Our Work Guarantee

Every project completed by Evolution Home Improvement is backed by a workmanship guarantee. If anything we installed or finished fails due to our workmanship within the warranty period, we return and correct it at no charge — no arguments, no invoices, no runaround. This is a written commitment, not a verbal promise.

We stand behind our work because we've built this company on repeat clients and referrals. The contractors who disappear after the job closes don't get referrals — they get one job and move on. We intend to be the contractor you call for every project on your property, which means every job has to be done right.

Product warranties from manufacturers — on windows, siding, flooring, cabinetry, and other installed products — are documented and transferred to you at project close. We explain what each warranty covers, what maintenance is required to keep it valid, and who to contact if a product issue arises after our workmanship period expires.

What Our Guarantee Covers
A
Written workmanship guarantee on every completed project
B
Workmanship failures corrected at no charge within the warranty period
C
Manufacturer product warranties documented and transferred to you at close
